Circles of Conversation

Circles of Conversation

Arts Council England

‘As the project evolves my hope is that people feel seen and gain more space to heal, grieve and let go.’

I am actively welcoming and creatively facilitating a national conversation between African and Caribbean intergenerational women. The idea to host these ‘Circles of Conversation’ came through my own life experience that has taught me that in these times we have in-house work to be about.

Each conversation is its own journey, stimulated by text from the first book of my memoir ‘She’s Home.’ The Circles are proving to be golden, they are bringing women together to do nothing but hear each other. A twenty-four-year-old Nigerian shared that before participating she had struggled to understand the point of view of older Caribbean women, held within the circle, she listened and found herself moved to empathy.
