Internal Conversations

Internal Conversations

Arts Council England

“I wade to the edge and stay quietly present.”

Internal Conversations is a growing, living exhibition calling to the African and Caribbean female community in Britain to gather and engage in dialogue through the mediums of visual interviews, fostered conversations, photography, academic insight, film and artist interpretation. Witness response and academic reflections will be integrated as it grows and builds into an enriching exhibition.

I position this work within the emotive landscape of African and Caribbean women across Britain telling their stories to each other. The creative documenting will inform and enrich the wider audience with an insight to the power and paralysis of memory. The work begun in London, my home city, and will have chapters in ‘the many places we have historically gathered’ across the country.’
