Arcadia came to me in its wholeness in 1995, five days before I gave birth to my only daughter, Omoyoma, to whom I dedicated Arcadia.

I have performed Arcadia widely, and it was used in nine school productions before it was published in 2018. I believe it has inspired children to think more deeply about
environmental issues through the writing of poems, choreographing dances and performing.

Arcadia is a call to the old and new, spoken with the clarity of a child: “Our world is so precious.”
